Keep publicizing! Anger, rage, fury, are all normal, justifiable to say the least. I pray for an apology to be forthcoming, but that is not enough. External acknowledgment would be great and perhaps a good start, but recovery is an inside job. My experience with working with abuse survivors is that the anger has to be experienced and worked through in several different ways, including talk therapy, writing, experiential therapy, sometimes confronting the abuser, body work, group support, and anything else that the survivors are willing to use. People who truly recover work extremely hard to process and get through, not around, over or under, the past. Eventually survivors are able to decrease the anger and increase joy and freedom in their lives, becoming able to help others by their very survival and their move towards emotional and spiritual health. Keep me posted, Blessings to you, Dawn Dawn Obrecht, M.D. Fellow of American Society of Addiction Medicine Box775596 Steamboat Springs, Co. 80477 303-877-5310 |
